Senegal's journey in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has come to an end following a heart-breaking penalty shootout loss to Ivory Coast in the round of 16, with a final score of 4-5 goals. Despite the disappointment, people have acknowledged Senegal's impressive progress throughout the tournament.

Franck Kessie equalised for the Elephants from the spot late in the second half. With nothing to break the deadlock, Moussa Niakhaté missed the crucial kick as Kessie scored to send Ivory Coast through. In other games,Cape Verde secured their spot in the last eight after overcoming a plucky Mauritania outfit, thanks to an 88-minute penalty from Ryan Mendes.
